Men in Chile traditionally wear a poncho called a manta, which is often worn over a white shirt and trousers. They also wear a wide-brimmed straw hat called a chupalla, which is a symbol of rural Chilean identity.
In modern times, traditional Chilean dress is mostly worn during festivals and celebrations, while everyday attire is more Western-influenced. However, many Chileans still take pride in their traditional clothing and may incorporate elements of it into their everyday wardrobe.
