Dress From Chile

Traditional Chilean dress is influenced by the country's indigenous Mapuche culture as well as Spanish colonial styles. One common traditional outfit for women in Chile is the chamanto, a poncho-like garment made of wool or silk and often decorated with intricate designs. Women also wear a traditional embroidered blouse called a chupalla, along with a long skirt and boots.

Men in Chile traditionally wear a poncho called a manta, which is often worn over a white shirt and trousers. They also wear a wide-brimmed straw hat called a chupalla, which is a symbol of rural Chilean identity.

In modern times, traditional Chilean dress is mostly worn during festivals and celebrations, while everyday attire is more Western-influenced. However, many Chileans still take pride in their traditional clothing and may incorporate elements of it into their everyday wardrobe.
