For men, the formal Filipino dress is the "barong Tagalog." This traditional attire consists of a lightweight, embroidered shirt made of piña, jusi, or cocoon silk, paired with dress pants. The barong Tagalog is typically worn untucked and can be accessorized with cufflinks, a belt, and dress shoes. It is often worn to formal events such as weddings, graduations, and government functions.
