The traditional dress of the Maldives is called "libaas". It is a loose-fitting garment that is worn by both men and women. The libaas for men typically consists of a long-sleeved tunic called a "kurta" paired with loose-fitting trousers called "mundu". Women wear a similar style of tunic called a "feyli" or "feyli kurta" along with a long skirt called a "feyli fatha". These garments are often made from lightweight fabrics such as cotton or silk, and are often brightly colored with intricate patterns and embroidery. Accessories such as scarves, sashes, and jewelry are also commonly worn to complement the traditional dress.
