Materials:
- 2 yards of fabric
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Scissors
- Pins
Instructions:
1. Start by folding your fabric in half with the right sides facing each other.
2. Cut out two rectangles for the front and back of the dress. The width of the rectangles should be your bust measurement divided by 2, plus 1 inch for seam allowance. The length of the rectangles should be your desired dress length plus 2 inches for hemming.
3. Sew the side seams of the front and back rectangles together, leaving a gap at the top for the armholes.
4. Cut out a smaller rectangle for the neckline of the dress. The width should be your desired neckline width, and the length should be your desired neckline depth plus 1 inch for seam allowance.
5. Sew the neckline rectangle to the top of the front and back rectangles, right sides facing each other.
6. Hem the bottom of the dress and the armholes.
7. Finish off the neckline with bias tape or a facing.
8. Try on the dress and adjust the fit as needed.
