Materials needed:

- Fabric of choice (cotton, satin, silk, etc.)

Instructions:

1. Take your measurements: Bust, waist, and hips. Use these measurements to determine the size of the pattern you will need to create.

2. Create the bodice pattern: Start by drafting a basic bodice pattern for the front and back of the dress. You can find free patterns online or use a commercial pattern and modify it to be strapless.

3. Cut out the fabric: Use your bodice pattern to cut out the front and back pieces of the dress from your fabric. Make sure to cut mirror images of the front and back pieces.

4. Sew the bodice pieces together: With right sides facing each other, sew the front and back bodice pieces together at the side seams. Press the seams open.

5. Sew the bodice to the skirt: Attach the bodice to the skirt of the dress, making sure to match up the side seams. Sew along the waistline to secure the bodice to the skirt.

6. Add boning (optional): If you want extra structure and support for your strapless dress, insert boning into the seams of the bodice. This will help the dress maintain its shape and stay up on your body.

7. Insert the zipper: Sew the zipper into the back seam of the dress, starting at the top of the bodice and ending at the bottom of the skirt. Make sure the zipper is securely attached and functions properly.

8. Finish the edges: Hem the bottom of the skirt and any raw edges on the bodice to give the dress a polished look.

9. Add closures: Sew a hook and eye closure at the top of the zipper to keep the dress securely closed.
