For female Marines, evening wear consists of the blue dress uniform, which includes the blue dress coat, blue skirt, white dress shirt, blue dress necktab, and black dress pumps. Female Marines may also wear the blue dress mess jacket with blue pants or skirt, white dress shirt, and bow tie.

Marines are expected to adhere to strict grooming standards while wearing evening wear, including having a neat and professional appearance with well-maintained hair and minimal jewelry. Additionally, all ribbons, badges, and insignia should be worn in the appropriate locations on the uniform.
