Wrap Dress Pattern

A wrap dress is a versatile and flattering style that can be worn for a variety of occasions. To create your own wrap dress pattern, you will need:

- Fabric of your choice (preferably a lightweight and drapey fabric such as jersey or crepe)
- Pattern paper
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Pins
- Sewing machine

Here is a basic guide to creating a simple wrap dress pattern:

1. Take your measurements: Measure your bust, waist, hips, and the length from your shoulder to your desired hemline.

2. Draft the bodice pattern: Start by drawing a basic bodice block on your pattern paper. Add darts at the bust and waist for shaping, and extend the side seam to create a wrap front. Make sure to leave enough room for overlap at the front to create the wrap effect.

3. Draft the skirt pattern: Draw a simple straight skirt pattern on your pattern paper, making sure it is wide enough to wrap around your hips and overlap at the front.

4. Cut out your fabric: Use your pattern pieces to cut out the front and back bodice, as well as the front and back skirt pieces from your fabric. Make sure to cut two front bodice pieces to create the wrap effect.

5. Sew the dress together: Sew the front and back bodice pieces together at the side seams. Sew the front and back skirt pieces together at the side seams as well. Attach the bodice to the skirt at the waistline, creating a seamless wrap dress.

6. Finish the dress: Hem the sleeves and skirt, and add any finishing touches such as a belt or ties to secure the wrap front.

Once you have mastered the basic wrap dress pattern, you can experiment with different sleeve lengths, necklines, and skirt styles to create a variety of looks. Have fun and get creative with your design!
